Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, recently posted a series of tweets expressing concerns about government funding of media and emphasizing the importance of transparency in public service.
On July 28, 2025, Burlison wrote, "The Russia hoax and Biden’s autopen scandal are exactly why government shouldn’t fund media. You can’t trust the watchdog when it’s on the government’s leash."
The following day, July 29, 2025, he shared a tweet containing only a link: "https://t.co/KB7CvPz4BI". In another tweet on the same day, Burlison stated, "Until any of us are given reason to believe transparency in any particular case is harmful to the constituents we serve, our duty is to demand it at every juncture. Burlison has been active in politics for over a decade. Before joining Congress in 2023—succeeding Billy Long—he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and in the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023.
