U.S. Representative Eric Burlison, who serves Missouri’s 7th district, used his social media account on July 25, 2025, to voice criticism of recent legislative changes and share his views on federal tax policy and firearms regulation.
In a post published at 15:12 UTC, Burlison stated, "The OBBB raised the SALT cap, serving coastal elites and enabling fiscally irresponsible blue states to keep high tax rates and make the rest of us pay for it. Why should the rest of America have to fund poorly run Blue states?" On the same day, he also posted "Where did we end up?"
Addressing issues related to firearms regulations in another post at 15:12 UTC, Burlison wrote, "What else was left behind? Although it’s nice that we eliminated the $200 tax stamp on suppressors and SBRs, it's hardly everything we wanted. Eliminating registration and the NFA altogether is still the goal."
Burlison has represented Missouri’s 7th congressional district since 2023 after succeeding Billy Long. He previously served in both chambers of Missouri's state legislature from 2009 through early 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison is an alumnus of Missouri State University with degrees earned in both 2000 and 2002.
