Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, addressed several issues in a series of tweets posted between July 16 and July 17, 2025.
On July 16, Burlison responded to allegations regarding House Republicans’ actions on the release of Epstein files. He stated, "This is critical Claims that House Republicans voted to block the Epstein files are FALSE. The procedural vote would’ve handed full control of the House floor to Democrats. That’s why I’ve signed onto @RepThomasMassie discharge petition to get all Epstein files".
Later that evening, Burlison commented on government transparency with a separate post: "Power without transparency is tyranny. Aren’t we a government for the people? Then act like it."
On July 17, he posted another message referencing amnesty: "‘Sorry, we’re all out of amnesty.’"
Burlison has served as the representative for Missouri’s 7th District since replacing Billy Long in 2023. Prior to his current role in Congress, he was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and served in the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison graduated from Missouri State University with both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
