U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt appeared on Fox News' The Faulkner Focus to address the recent murders of Israeli Embassy staffers Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. He expressed his condolences to their families, describing the incident as a "vicious murder" and a tragedy that occurred too soon. Schmitt noted reports indicating the suspect was radicalized as a pro-Hamas terrorist, highlighting concerns about such ideologies present in the U.S.
Discussing cultural influences on college campuses, Schmitt agreed with Secretary Rubio's stance on visas being a privilege and criticized what he described as cultural Marxism. He stated, "This is an ideology that has taken root now... this sort of cultural Marxism where you divide the room by oppressor and oppressed." Schmitt called for colleges to denounce hate speech and extremist views.
Senator Schmitt also spoke about his legislative efforts alongside Senator Moody from Florida to expand expedited removal authority for criminal illegal immigrants. He emphasized, "Mass migration needs to be met with mass deportations," aiming to support President Trump's goal of deporting dangerous individuals without judicial review if they have been convicted of felonies or are associated with terrorist organizations or gangs.
Schmitt criticized Democrats for their approach to immigration issues, asserting that President Trump will succeed in fulfilling his campaign promise of mass deportations despite challenges in court.
