Congressman Eric Burlison has announced the passage of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) through both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The bill, which includes language aimed at protecting property rights along Table Rock Lake, now awaits the President's signature.
"This legislation brings much-needed clarity for families and property owners at Table Rock Lake," said Burlison. He highlighted that the provisions would help in "protecting septic systems essential to their homes or preventing costly relocations due to past property line discrepancies."
The WRDA provision allows eligible structures such as septic systems, dwellings, and minor encroachments to remain on Army Corps of Engineers land around Table Rock Lake. Burlison called this a "victory for the families who call Table Rock Lake home."
The passage of this bill is seen as a major step in safeguarding property rights and supporting local communities by reducing regulatory burdens. Congressman Burlison expressed his anticipation for the President to sign the bill, ensuring relief and clarity for property owners in the area.
