In a recent development, Senator Eric Schmitt criticized Department of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm for the Biden Administration's depletion of the strategic petroleum reserve and her coordination with the Chinese Communist Party.

Senator Schmitt has established himself as a leader in the Senate on issues related to China's rising influence. He has previously pointed out the Biden Administration's disregard for America’s safety due to what he calls an irresponsible draining of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is currently nearing historic lows, and according to Senator Schmitt, the Biden Administration lacks a clear plan to restore its capacity. The administration recently announced that it would cancel the purchase of up to 3 million barrels for the reserve due to high prices.

As gas prices are predicted to increase throughout the summer, American taxpayers could potentially face higher costs due to what Senator Schmitt describes as the Biden Administration’s current inaction.
