Missouri State University announced on Apr. 8 the appointment of Tyler Hoffman as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer team. Head coach Michael Seabolt said Hoffman will support all areas of the program, with a focus on working with goalkeepers.
Hoffman’s addition comes as the team looks to build on its recent season and continue its tradition of success both on and off the field. He replaces Keith Fulk, who left Missouri State this spring to pursue other professional opportunities.
Hoffman previously served as head coach and director of compliance and eligibility at Benedictine University in Mesa, Arizona, where he led the program to its first Great Southwest Athletic Conference finals and playoff win. During his tenure, he produced seven all-conference selections, four conference players of the week, and one NAIA National Player of the Week while managing recruiting, scheduling, fundraising, and compliance efforts.
Seabolt said: “We are very excited to add coach Hoffman and his wife Taylor to our soccer family. Tyler has been successful in the Division I game in various roles with Stanford and then as an NAIA head coach along with other coaching stops along his professional journey.”
Before joining Benedictine University, Hoffman worked at Stanford University as director of operations for men’s soccer. He contributed to staff training and helped develop goalkeepers during Stanford’s run to the NCAA round of 16 in 2022. He also held associate head coaching positions for both men’s and women’s programs at Las Positas College from 2016-22.
Hoffman said: “Thank you to Coach Seabolt for the opportunity to join the Missouri State program. I am excited to join the Bears and help continue the longstanding history of success on the field and in the community.” His academic background includes a master’s degree from Georgetown University in Sports Industry Management and a bachelor’s degree from University of Hawaii at Hilo.
His hiring is pending formal approval by Missouri State University’s Board of Governors at their next scheduled meeting.
