Trump approves disaster aid for Missouri after March storms

Today, President Trump approved federal disaster aid for Missouri following severe storms in March and early April. U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt expressed his approval of the decision, emphasizing the importance of this aid for affected communities.

“I’m glad to see Missouri’s federal disaster declarations were approved to help individuals and communities from across Eastern Missouri recover from the storms in March and early April,” said Senator Schmitt. He highlighted his collaboration with the federal delegation to ensure timely assistance reaches families in need. “This is just the beginning of helping communities across our state get back on their feet following devastating storms this season.”

Senator Schmitt also mentioned ongoing communication with FEMA regarding additional assistance for recent storms impacting St. Louis, pledging continued efforts to secure necessary aid for Missourians.

On April 3, 2025, Senators Schmitt and Josh Hawley sent a letter to President Trump urging immediate action on Governor Mike Kehoe’s disaster declarations. The approved declarations will provide both Individual Assistance and Public Assistance across various counties.

Counties eligible for Individual Assistance include Bollinger, Butler, Camden, Carter, Franklin, Howell, Iron, Jefferson, Oregon, Ozark, Perry, Phelps, Reynolds, Ripley, St. Louis, Wayne, Webster, and Wright Counties. Public Assistance will be available in Bollinger, Butler, Callaway, Carter, Dunklin, Franklin, Howell, Iron, Madison New Madrid Oregon Ozark Perry Phelps Reynolds Ripley Scott Shannon Stoddard Wayne Counties.

Residents in eligible counties can apply through FEMA for Individual Assistance.
