Rep. Eric Burlison, who represents Missouri’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform this week to make several pointed statements regarding federal agencies and healthcare policy.

On November 12, 2025, Burlison posted a message critical of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), stating: "The FBI went full-blown political hit squad. Arctic Frost was their secret weapon, a covert operation targeting conservatives and fueling Jack Smith’s crusade against Trump. @rachelbovard joins us for episode 57 of Fresh Freedom to expose it all."

Later that day, he referenced Jonathan Gruber, known for his role in designing the Affordable Care Act (ACA), writing: "Remember Jonathan Gruber, the architect of Obamacare? He said it passed because of 'the stupidity of the American voter.' That is how this disaster became law." This post echoes long-standing criticisms from some lawmakers about both Gruber's remarks and the ACA’s legislative process.

On November 13, 2025, Burlison continued his critique of the ACA with another post: "Obamacare funnels billions of taxpayer dollars straight to insurance companies every year. Instead of empowering patients, it props up a broken system. Imagine if that money went directly to you — to pay for your care, your doctor, your choice."

Burlison has represented Missouri’s 7th district since 2023 after succeeding Billy Long. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of both the Missouri House of Representatives and Missouri Senate between 2009 and 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison holds degrees from Missouri State University.
