Missouri State University’s women’s soccer team will begin a four-game home stretch with a match against Delaware on Sunday, October 5, at noon. The game will take place at Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium in Springfield, Missouri. This meeting marks the first time Missouri State and Delaware have faced each other in women’s soccer.
Missouri State enters the contest with an overall record of 5-5-2 and is undefeated in Conference USA play with a 2-0-1 mark. All five of the Bears’ victories this season have come on the road, tying them for second nationally in road wins.
The Bears are coming off two consecutive conference wins, having defeated Jacksonville State 1-0 and Kennesaw State 3-1 away from home. Their current unbeaten streak in conference matches stands at 23 games; their last conference loss was on October 23, 2022, against Illinois State.
Goalkeeper Ella Becker has started every match this season for Missouri State, accumulating 985 minutes played. She has made 48 saves and posted a .750 save percentage along with four shutouts.
Abby Hansen leads the team with ten points, scoring three goals and providing four assists. Julia Kristensen is second on the team with eight points from three goals and two assists. Maggie O'Keefe recently became the first Bear to score twice in one game this season during the win over Kennesaw State; she now has three goals including one game-winner.
Emma Shields leads Missouri State with two game-winning goals (two goals, one assist total), while Brooke Cattoor has also contributed two goals. Jane Hansen, Macee McKenna, and Riley Smith have each recorded one assist this season.
Missouri State averages 1.33 goals per game while holding opponents to a .125 shooting percentage.
