Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district, published several statements on his official X account on October 2, 2025, criticizing Democratic healthcare proposals and the Affordable Care Act.

At 13:51 UTC, Burlison wrote, "FACT: Democrats’ proposal would result in nearly $200 billion spent on healthcare for illegal immigrants and other non-citizens over the next decade."

Later that day at 15:00 UTC, he posted a direct critique of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare: "Obamacare is a disaster. It was a lie when it was passed, it’s a lie today, and it has left millions of Americans paying more for less. They don’t care if you don’t want it. They care about power."

One hour later at 16:00 UTC, Burlison used an analogy to express his criticism of healthcare choices under the ACA: "Imagine walking into town and being told there’s only one pizza place left, and they only sell the giant deluxe for $40 a pie. That’s the Obamacare experience."

Burlison has represented Missouri's 7th District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Billy Long. He previously served in both chambers of Missouri's legislature—first in the House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and then in the Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison holds two degrees from Missouri State University earned in 2000 and 2002.
