Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district, posted several statements on his social media accounts between September 29 and September 30, 2025, addressing national security concerns, local industry contributions, and federal spending proposals.
On September 29, Burlison raised concerns about the Federal Bureau of Investigation's activities related to the events of January 6th: "New reports of the FBI’s massive presence on J6 raise serious questions that can’t be ignored."
Later that day, he highlighted the economic importance of manufacturing in Joplin: "Joplin's robust manufacturing industry plays a vital role in America's success on the global stage."
On September 30, Burlison criticized Democratic lawmakers for proposing what he described as an expensive government funding deal: "Democrats want us to pass one of the most expensive spending bills in US history, in exchange for funding the government for 7 weeks.
A “deal” like this should be DOA, and Biden's $448 billion covid subsidies should be a non-starter.

Burlison has represented Missouri’s 7th district since replacing Billy Long in Congress in 2023. Before serving at the federal level, he was a member of both the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison holds degrees from Missouri State University earned in both 2000 and 2002.
