Schmitt and Wicker tour NGA and Boeing facilities; host defense supplier roundtable

Senators Eric Schmitt and Roger Wicker recently visited the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and Boeing facilities in St. Louis. The visit included a tour of NGA's current headquarters, a look at their new campus under construction in North St. Louis, and an inspection of Boeing Defense’s production facility in Hazelwood.

"It was great to show off the Show-Me state’s defense capabilities to Senator Wicker," said Senator Eric Schmitt. He emphasized the importance of strengthening military preparedness through the Senate Armed Services Committee and highlighted Missouri's role in defense technology.

Senator Roger Wicker expressed his appreciation for visiting Missouri with Senator Schmitt, acknowledging Schmitt's contributions to national security efforts. "I appreciated the opportunity to travel with Senator Schmitt to Missouri," he said.

The Senators also hosted a roundtable with defense suppliers from St. Louis-based companies that provide critical technology and equipment for military success.

BACKGROUND:

Senator Roger Wicker has been serving in the United States Senate since 2007 and is currently the Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Both Senators have supported stable funding for the Next Generation Air Dominance program through legislative processes.

Additionally, Senator Schmitt has introduced various initiatives including securing funding for family housing at Fort Leonard Wood, advocating for Rosecrans Air National Guard Base, supporting military spouses during relocations, increasing financial literacy among servicemembers, and addressing divisive DEI issues within the military.
