Senator Eric Schmitt has released a statement in response to the recent foreign aid supplemental vote. The Senator expressed his concerns over the allocation of funds, particularly with regard to defense and border security.

"Missourians sent me to Washington to fight for them, not to just go along with the failed Washington way of doing things, like spending billions we don’t have to defend the Ukrainian border while nothing is done to secure our own border," stated Senator Schmitt. He further criticized the lack of opportunity to amend the bill, describing it as "insane."

Schmitt emphasized his commitment to prioritizing America's strategic interests and the needs of its citizens. "It is time to put America’s strategic interests and the interests of the American people first. Washington’s priorities are out of touch with real America," he said.

The Senator concluded his statement by explaining his decision against supporting the bill: "Therefore, I voted no," said Senator Eric Schmitt.
