Senator Schmitt discussed President Trump’s first hundred days in office during an appearance on Fox Business. He reflected on efforts made by the administration to protect citizens’ constitutional rights and to bolster the economy.

In the conversation concerning religious freedom, Senator Schmitt emphasized the historical significance of Americans’ rights being derived from God rather than from monarchs. “One of the reasons why the Left tries to sever all ties, all those important anchors, like the family, the Church, community, all those sorts of things is because if you’re then sort of wandering around, the government can then provide those answers for you. And as we know, the government can’t love you. That’s what our families and our God is for,” he stated, while elaborating on the revolutionary concept of rights being bestowed by God and the government’s responsibility to protect those rights.

On economic matters, Senator Schmitt highlighted President Trump’s policies, which he metaphorically described as a “four-legged stool.” These measures include making tax cuts permanent, regulatory reform, establishing energy dominance, and creating a balanced trade policy. Discussing trade specifically, he spoke about potential upcoming trade deals and barriers being reduced to allow better access for U.S. products and commodities. “Because we have a President for the first time in a generation that’s willing to stand up and fight for working people. And that’s what we needed all along,” Schmitt remarked.

Senator Schmitt’s remarks aired on Fox Business’ show Kudlow, where he provided a detailed insight into the administration’s approach in these areas over its initial months.
