Senator Schmitt appeared on Fox News’ “Ingraham Angle” to express his views on the current state of Senate Democrats in relation to President Trump’s America First agenda. During the interview, Schmitt criticized Senate Democrats for their perceived disconnect with American citizens.

Reflecting on recent political events, Schmitt stated, “I actually think they have not really come to grips with what happened even in November. Right? They thought they had President Trump on the ropes. They thought he was gone. They thought the America first movement was just sort of a flash in the pan. It was all going to be out of sight, out of mind. They tried to put him in jail for the rest of his life.” He continued by highlighting how, according to him, Americans reacted: “The American people sat in that jury box, and they delivered their own verdict when they saw the lawfare and all the craziness that happened.”

Schmitt also mentioned several individuals who he believes represent reformers within this movement: “They sent President Trump back with all the reformers who are sitting there testifying including Kristi Noem and Kash Patel and they can’t believe that they’re on the other side of the table.”

He went further to describe what he sees as ongoing issues within Senate proceedings: “So, this sort of craziness that I see unfold every day on the Senate floor and in these hearings, I just think you’re going to see more of it, Laura. They have not hit rock bottom yet. They have not come to grips with this. They’re totally out of touch with the American people.”

Turning his attention to Democratic rallies and political figures gaining traction, Schmitt remarked: “Look who is drawing the biggest rallies? Bernie Sanders and AOC. And the newest on the scene, Jasmine Crockett, right.” He added that these developments indicate a shift leftward within the party: “These are the stars of the show, and it’s really quite amazing.”

Concluding his thoughts on party dynamics, Schmitt suggested Republicans should capitalize on these shifts by positioning themselves as pragmatic leaders: “So I think they’re just sort of chasing this thing. It’s going to push them further and further to the left…And we be [sic]the party of common sense; we be [sic]the party of American worker[sic],and deliver…That’s where we’re at. Let’s deliver.”
