Eric Burlison, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district, has recently shared his perspectives on several national and international issues through social media. His tweets reflect his views on judicial activism, immigration policies, and international affairs.
On June 17, 2025, Burlison expressed concern about what he perceives as activist judges in America. He stated, “America’s new tyrants are activist judges—propping up racist DEI scams and gender lunacy, all while ignoring the will of the people.” This tweet underscores his stance against diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that he believes do not align with public opinion.
Later that day, Burlison criticized past immigration policies by denouncing “catch and release,” a practice related to handling individuals detained at borders. He commented on its ineffectiveness with strong words: “Catch and release” was a total disaster. Weak, pathetic, and dangerous. NEVER AGAIN.”
On June 18, 2025, Burlison turned his attention to foreign policy by addressing the situation in Iran. He identified Iran’s regime as a significant threat globally: “Iran’s regime is the world’s top terror sponsor. It’s driven millions into exile and crushed freedom.” He also conveyed hope for Iran’s future without foreign intervention: “A free, intellectual Iran can rise again—without U.S. intervention.”
Burlison has been serving in Congress since replacing Billy Long in 2023. His political career includes tenure in both the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate before joining Congress.
