Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH) in Gravette, Arkansas, has been recognized by the Arkansas Department of Health with two Pearl Awards for its performance in stroke care. The awards cover the period from July 2024 through June 2025 and are based on data from the Arkansas Stroke Registry. OCH was honored for its achievements in Door to CT times and stroke band documentation.
Door-to-CT time is a key metric that tracks how quickly patients suspected of having a stroke receive a brain scan, which is critical for determining treatment options. Stroke band documentation helps healthcare providers track and expedite care for patients with suspected or confirmed strokes.
OCH ER Manager Londa Fiola commented on the recognition: “In a small rural access hospital, technology changes everything. It connects hospitals, people, and information to allow rapid evaluation and treatment, especially for stroke patients,” she said. “But technology alone does not save lives. It is the humanity behind it. Without the vision, compassion, empathy, and values of our nurses, physicians, and radiology technologists, technology has no soul. We may be small here at OCH, but our dedication and passion for patient care make a powerful difference every day.”
Ozarks Community Hospital serves both urban and rural communities throughout the Ozarks region as a bi-state safety net healthcare provider headquartered in Gravette. The hospital offers family medicine along with various specialty services and operates an emergency department that is open around the clock.
