Missouri State University’s women’s basketball team has received academic recognition from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). The WBCA Academic Top 25 acknowledges college women’s basketball teams across various divisions that maintain the highest combined GPAs among all student-athletes on their rosters throughout the season.

The Lady Bears achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.426 during the 2024-25 season, qualifying them for top 25 consideration and earning them a special mention for their academic performance.

The WBCA is a professional association for coaches of women’s and girls’ basketball at all competition levels. Established in 1981, it provides educational resources to enhance leadership, teaching, and mentoring skills among coaches. It also offers networking opportunities within the profession and acts as a unified voice for coaches regarding organizations governing the sport.
