Missouri State women’s track and field team is set to compete in two events this week, with athletes participating at the UCM Kip and Kirk Outdoor Mule Relays in Warrensburg on April 9-10, followed by the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Fayetteville on April 11.
The upcoming competitions are important for Missouri State as the team continues its outdoor season after strong performances at recent meets. The Bears recently participated in the Wash U Distance Carnival and Southwest Baptist Invitational, where they secured event titles, runner-up finishes, and several notable marks.
Ella Cronhardt led Missouri State at the SBU Invitational by winning the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:33.87. Olivia Rogers finished second in both the 100-meter dash (11.55) and the 200-meter dash (23.86). In addition to Cronhardt’s win, Mary Margaret Harris placed second in the 1,500 meters (4:38.25), Ella Rew was third (4:44.82), and Faith Fotiades took fourth (4:45.25).
The relay teams also performed well as Whitney Farrington, Claire Farrell, Raegan Foster, and BreAna Garrett finished second in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 3:44.13. In sprint events during their last outing in Bolivar, Kayleigh Jenkins took third place in the 100-meter dash (11.69) and fourth place in the 200-meter dash (24.19), while Claire Farrell placed fifth (11.92) and sixth (24.35) respectively.
Field events saw Shiloh Cross finish fourth in long jump with a mark of 5.54 meters before winning triple jump at 11.78 meters; Jenkins added a runner-up finish by clearing 1.63 meters for high jump while Tommi Martin placed eighth overall with her javelin throw of 42.12 meters.
As Missouri State prepares for its double-meet weekend schedule across Missouri and Arkansas venues—Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field and John McDonnell Field—the team’s depth across sprints, distance races, relays, jumps, throws will be tested again.
