For the 12th time in the last 13 years, Missouri State’s volleyball team has received the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award. This award is sponsored by INTENT and was announced on Monday.

The Bears achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.41 for the academic year, surpassing the qualifying standard of 3.30. They recorded a GPA of 3.45 in the fall semester and 3.38 in the spring semester. The student-athletes combined for eight semesters with a perfect 4.0 GPA, 16 semesters with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and had 33 semesters on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, which requires a GPA of at least 3.0.

The volleyball team will begin their season on August 29-30 at a tournament hosted by Abilene Christian and will make their home debut on September 4 against Lindenwood as part of the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational, which spans three days. Their first Conference USA match is scheduled for September 26 at FIU, and they will host an exhibition game against Central Arkansas on August 23 at 3 p.m.

Season tickets are currently available for purchase.
