Missouri State University’s STUNT team is set to play two games on Wednesday, March 4, in Quincy, Illinois. The Bears will face Quincy at 4:00 p.m. and Missouri Valley at 5:30 p.m., with both matches taking place at Pepsi Arena.

Head coach Kennedy Wingbermuehle commented on the team’s preparation ahead of these games. “We have been making changes and cleaning up our levels in preparation for the tournaments we have later this month. We are looking forward to getting these levels on the floor tomorrow and seeing how they look in action. The support the team has received this season has been wonderful, and the girls love seeing their fans travel to watch them compete,” stated Wingbermuehle.

The game against Quincy marks the first meeting between Missouri State and Quincy’s STUNT teams. Following that, Missouri State will play Missouri Valley, a team over which they currently hold a 2-0 record in previous matchups. Their most recent win against Missouri Valley was on February 4 during their home opener, ending with a score of 24-5.

Wingbermuehle was appointed as the inaugural head coach for Missouri State’s STUNT program on February 27, 2024. She led the team through its first season in 2025 at the Division I level, achieving its first victory against Drury University on February 15, 2025. That season concluded with a record of nine wins and eighteen losses overall, including three conference victories out of eight games.

Under Wingbermuehle’s leadership, student-athlete Peighton Powell earned selection to the All Mid America West Tournament Second Team in 2025—the first such honor for any member of Missouri State’s program.

Missouri State competes in the Mid America West Conference alongside teams such as Central Arkansas, Kentucky, Mercyhurst, Northern Kentucky, and UT Martin.

In January 2026, STUNT was officially recognized as an NCAA championship sport following a vote by NCAA membership during that year’s convention. This development means that starting spring 2027 there will be an official National Collegiate Championship for STUNT athletes from all three NCAA divisions competing for one national title.

Collegiate STUNT is organized across several levels: Division I, II, III as well as NAIA and club categories.
