Missouri State men’s golf finishes tenth at Arkansas State Spring Invitational

The Missouri State men’s golf team finished in tenth place on April 14 at the Arkansas State Spring Invitational, held at RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The Bears improved their position in the final round, moving past Nichols to secure a top-10 finish with a total score of 913 after rounds of 310, 301, and 300.

This result reflects the team’s ability to recover and climb the leaderboard during the last day of competition. Junior Owen Swearingen and sophomore Jonathan Jordan led Missouri State by tying for 37th place individually with totals of 227. Swearingen posted rounds of 78 and 76 on Monday before finishing with a team-best score of 73 in the final round. Jordan recorded scores of 76, 77, and closed with a strong round of 74.

Senior Christian Rischer was just one stroke behind his teammates with a three-round total of 228 (79-73-76), while freshman Noah Naugle finished another shot back at 229 (77-75-77). Sophomore Andrew Fallis competed as an individual and scored a total of 238 over three rounds (77-78-83), while junior Max Bowman posted scores totaling to 241 (83-78-80).

Arkansas State dominated the event by winning the team title with an overall score of 839 across three rounds. Houston Christian finished second at 877, followed by Southeastern Louisiana (879), Bradley (885), and Omaha (886) to complete the top five teams among eleven competitors.

The Bears will return to action next week when they compete at the Hawkeye Invitational in Riverside, Iowa on April 20 and April 21.
