Missouri State University’s Acrobatics and Tumbling team will host No. 15 La Salle at Hammons Student Center in Springfield, Missouri, on Friday, Feb. 27 at 6:00 p.m. Admission to the event is free for all fans.
This meet will be Missouri State’s last home competition until April 9, when they face Morgan State in what will also serve as senior night. The Bears come into the weekend after achieving a program-record team score of 245.130 during their recent tri-meet against No. 5 Augustana and Presbyterian. This marked the second consecutive event where Missouri State set a new program high.
During that meet, Missouri State secured its first victory of the season by defeating Presbyterian and continued to narrow the gap with nationally ranked teams. The Bears started strong with a score of 34.850 in compulsory events, highlighted by a 9.700 in the pyramid heat, followed by scores of 26.300 in acro and 26.450 in pyramid, including a notable 9.800 in the pyramid open heat.
In the latter half of the competition, Missouri State recorded a 26.400 in toss and a 49.500 in tumbling before closing with an 81.630 in the team event to secure their record-setting total. The team has shown consistent improvement across all six events this season and has produced multiple scores above 9.000 early on, particularly in pyramid and tumbling heats.
Friday’s contest marks the first meeting between Missouri State and La Salle’s Acrobatics and Tumbling teams. La Salle enters ranked No. 15 nationally, providing another test for Missouri State as it seeks to build on its recent performances.
