The Missouri Job Center Ozark Region has received a clean financial monitoring report for the third consecutive year. The review was conducted by Booth Management Consulting (BMC), which is contracted by the Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development to assess how workforce regions manage grants, programs, and services according to accounting standards.
Amanda Ohlensehlen, Director of Workforce & Economic Vitality for the City of Springfield, stated, “We are pleased that for a third consecutive year we have had a clean monitoring report from BMC and are recognized for our continued adherence of stringent policies and procedures to ensure public trust.” She added, “BMC did not identify any findings or other non-compliance issues during the monitoring.”
The annual monitoring evaluates compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in areas such as procurement, contract management, cost classification, and financial management systems. The most recent review covered activities from July 1 to December 31, 2024.
The City of Springfield’s Department of Workforce Development has provided workforce services in the Ozark region since 1974. It works with partners including the Ozark Region Workforce Development Board and the Council of Local Elected Officials to deliver various workforce development programs.
Since 2021, Springfield has led over $24 million in grant-funded projects from agencies such as the U.S. Economic Development Administration and Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration. These include a $17.5 million Good Jobs Challenge Grant and several others supporting apprenticeships and job training.
