Missouri State’s Logan Fyffe was recognized on Apr. 14 by the College Baseball Foundation as the Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week, an honor given to the nation’s most outstanding shortstop.
This recognition highlights Fyffe’s recent performance, where he batted .471 and reached base safely 14 times over four games last week. He posted a .609 on-base percentage and a .647 slugging percentage, with three doubles, four runs batted in, six runs scored, four walks, and two hit-by-pitches.
Fyffe began his week by reaching base three times and scoring once against Missouri. On Friday, he went 3-for-6 with two doubles and three RBIs in Missouri State’s series opener at Delaware. The following day, he reached base six times—going 3-for-3 with a walk, two hit-by-pitches, and two stolen bases—and scored five runs. He added another hit in Sunday’s game to help secure a sweep of Delaware for Missouri State.
Currently leading Conference USA with a .391 batting average this season, Fyffe is contributing to Missouri State’s strong record of 24 wins and 10 losses overall (12-3 in conference play). The Bears are set to host Missouri on Wednesday at Hammons Field at 6:30 p.m., maintaining the nation’s longest active home winning streak at 15 games. They are also one of only two teams nationally that remain unbeaten at home.
