Rep. Eric Burlison, who represents Missouri’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of topics on his Twitter account this week, from criminal justice issues to infrastructure and social policy.

On July 30, 2025, Rep. Burlison posted about the ongoing case involving Ghislaine Maxwell, writing: “If Ghislaine Maxwell has names and details that expose the truth, immunity should be considered. But if she lies, she should face the full consequences.”

Later that day, he commented on transportation and economic concerns with a statement about freight rail: “Freight rail powers our economy, but delays near key infrastructure slow everything down. My Freights First Act keeps goods moving and shelves stocked.” The post referenced his legislative initiative aimed at improving freight efficiency.

On July 31, 2025, Burlison turned to social welfare policy: “Hardworking Americans shouldn’t be punished so freeloaders can feel comfortable. True compassion means helping people move toward independence, not enabling a permanent state of reliance.”

Rep. Eric Burlison began serving Missouri’s 7th district in Congress in 2023 after succeeding Billy Long. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and then in the Missouri Senate until 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark at age 46, Burlison is an alumnus of Missouri State University where he completed both undergraduate and graduate studies.
