Eric Burlison, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district, shared his views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Burlison, who succeeded Billy Long in 2023 and has an extensive political background including terms in the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate, continues to express his stance on national matters.
On June 10, 2025, Burlison urged action on fiscal responsibility with a call to pass the White House’s rescissions package. He emphasized accountability by stating “Let’s show the American people that we are serious about ending waste, protecting their hard-earned dollars, and finally starting the process of getting Washington’s fiscal house in order.”
The following day, June 11, he discussed recent events and concerns about government spending during an episode of Fresh Freedom. He mentioned riots in Los Angeles and financial issues plaguing Washington D.C., noting “Today on episode 49 of Fresh Freedom: LA is burning, D.C. keeps spending, and @RepTimmons says enough is enough.”
Later that day, Burlison commented on constitutional rights related to gun ownership. He critiqued states imposing restrictions by asserting “Americans won’t be lectured on Constitutional infringements from a state that won’t even allow law abiding gun owners to wrap their hands around a pistol grip.”
Burlison was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976 and currently resides in Ozark. He graduated from Missouri State University with a BA degree.
