Michelle Boehne, the administrative director of clinics at Citizens Memorial Hospital, has been appointed to the board of directors for the National Association of Rural Health Clinics (NARHC). Her term will last three years, from 2026 through 2028.
The NARHC is an organization that supports rural health clinics and works to ensure that patients in rural and underserved areas have access to quality and affordable health care. As a member of the board, Boehne will advocate for rural health clinics and represent patient interests.
Boehne brings over two decades of experience in clinical operations and healthcare administration to her new role. She commented on the importance of her work: “CMH has 14 rural health clinics that are vital to serving patients in our rural service area,” Boehne said. “NARHC is a critical link between rural health clinics and federal legislators and regulators. We bring real-world experience from rural clinics to policymakers.”
Rural health clinics play a significant role in delivering primary care across the United States. There are more than 5,700 federally certified rural health clinics providing services to over 38 million people across 47 states.
