For the second year in a row, Citizens Memorial Hospital has achieved a four-star rating from The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for patient safety and quality. This rating is featured on the CMS Care Compare site.

“Earning this rating for the second year in a row reflects the consistent, high-quality care our patients receive at CMH,” stated Michael Calhoun, CEO and Executive Director of CMH and the Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. “Quality and safety are daily priorities, and this recognition highlights our team’s ongoing commitment to excellence in every area of care.”

The CMS calculates its ratings using 46 quality measures across five categories: mortality, timely and effective care, safety of care, readmission, and patient experience. The Overall Star Rating provides consumers with a straightforward summary score by combining various aspects of quality.
